![]() ![]() But it may be equally as hard for Downey to find a role more suitable to his acting strengths than Tony Stark himself. It can easily stand on its own as a singular superhero adventure, but it also presents the universe as somewhere that could have dozens upon dozens of heroes.Īt this point, it's hard to think of anyone else in the Iron Man suit but Robert Downey Jr. There's been so many MCU films now that it's hard to imagine one without numerous Marvel superheroes in them, but that's what is so brilliant about Iron Man. Even though I loved it upon first viewing, I wasn't all that pumped about going back another time. Iron Man is one of those films that gets better with age. Iron Man is one of the best comic book films I've ever seen and definitely one of the best MCU films! This film is very well acted and packed with a smart script and all of that lends to a great movie! I'm not saying she should overact, but the acting could've been more convincing for this scene. It didn't look like she was scared and it felt very forced, she gave this tennis ball type look to him, though granted he was CGI but I felt this was inexcusable. Gwyneth Paltrow's acting when she is getting chased down by Iron Monger and is close to getting hurt by him was so bad in my opinion. It felt kind of shoehorned in and I felt it could've been handled better.ģ. There was no real build up to it and it was so sudden. Obadiah's sudden transformation into a villain. But for the most part he is a decent character.Ģ. I just didn't buy him as this military colonel. I have nothing against Terrence Howard, he's a really good actor but he just didn't fit the character in my opinion. Also the special effects and CGI is well done, not much to say here.ġ. Visuals This film is shot well, it has this richness to it. Hell in the end of the film Tony just flat out says he's Iron Man, which was shocking at the time because normally superheros hide their identity and it was so refreshing that they went for a different direction with this film.ģ. The characters' dialogue feels natural and it never feels forced and cliche. The story is very smart surprisingly, I liked how this film actually felt like a movie and deviated away from the typical superhero cliches which is another thing I want to get into, this film stays away from cliches. The story, pacing and tone the pacing is well done, there is no moments where the film drags for me. All the other casting is fine for the most part.Ģ. Jeff Bridges was awesome as Obadiah Stane, you bought him when he was a good guy and when he eventually turns into a baddie he does a great job as well. She is natural while also having this charisma about her. Gwyneth Paltrow as Pepper Potts was great, she does an exceptional job as her character. as Tony Stark/Iron Man is some of the best casting I've seen! He captures the character from the comics perfectly while also injecting his own mannerisms as well! He is a dick but so likable and he has a great sense of humor throughout the film and he does have moments where you honestly do feel for his character! The casting (except for one character which I'll get into) Robert Downey Jr. There are no External Links to display.Iron Man was great! Almost every aspect worked and this film floored everyone including me and it was a perfect start to the Marvel Cinematic Universe!ġ.Hasbro Titan Heroes Series Hulk getting out of Hulkbuster two pack References The Hulkbuster Mark II is a Modular Armor Bruce Banner used it in the Battle of Wakanda.
